Introduction
Recycling scrap, preserving resources, securing the future – what drives us is more than just a mission. It is our responsibility. As a family-owned company with our roots in Schleswig-Holstein and now operating 12 locations across Germany, we stand for genuine environmental protection – close to people, close to our regions. Every material we keep in circulation saves valuable resources and reduces CO₂ emissions. Day by day, we contribute to a sustainable future – both locally and nationwide.
But we aim for more: we continuously challenge ourselves, set new goals, and work with passion to further reduce our carbon emissions. At the same time, we engage with local communities – because for us, sustainability is not only about protecting the environment, but also about taking responsibility for society.

Under the motto “We love Heavy Metal”, our sustainability brochure deliberately opens our doors. We show who we are, what drives us, and the people behind our success. You will gain insight into how we actively implement our environmental and social goals step by step – today and in the future.

Next-Generation Solar Technology
Our energy does not only come from conviction – increasingly, it comes from our own rooftops. Today, we already generate part of our electricity at our sites in Itzehoe and Hamburg-Harburg – clean, sustainable, and independent. And we continue to expand: new photovoltaic systems in Elmshorn and additional capacity in Itzehoe are already underway.
Every kilowatt-hour we produce brings us one step closer to a greener future.
Our Fuels of the Future
On the Move with New Energy
The mobility of tomorrow begins today: more than half of our company vehicles are already electric – quiet, efficient, and low-emission. To support this transition, we consistently invest in our own charging infrastructure. Modern fast-charging stations at several locations provide the required energy – with additional installations already planned.
Courage to Innovate – Hydrogen in Use
Since mid-2026, we have been taking a bold step forward by testing a hydrogen-powered truck at our Lübeck site. This pilot project demonstrates what sustainable heavy-duty transport can look like in the future – bringing us significantly closer to our goal of achieving carbon neutrality.
Because It Matters – Sustainable Fuels
With HVO100, we are testing an alternative fuel that can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 90%. Although it is currently more expensive, we are carefully evaluating its long-term use. Because we are convinced: true sustainability has value – for all of us and for future generations.
